Fewer “Is My Report Ready?” Calls: Three Links a Patient Can Open

“Is my serial close?” “Is the report ready?” “Where is the collector?” Three questions that tie up a reception phone all day — and each one has an answer the centre already knows. Here is how SihatSuite hands those answers to the patient's own phone.

Ask any reception desk what the phone rings for, and the same three questions come up. A patient with serial 18 wants to know whether to leave home yet. A patient who gave blood yesterday wants to know if the report is ready. A family waiting for a home collection wants to know where the collector is. The centre knows every one of those answers. The patient does not, so they call.

Three phone screens: a live doctor serial with an estimated time, a report's test-by-test progress, and a home-collection collector on a map
The three links on a phone, from SihatSuite's demo centre. Every name and number is invented.

1. The live serial: wait at home, not on the bench

Every serial in SihatSuite has its own link. The patient sees their serial, the serial the doctor is seeing now, how many patients are ahead, and an estimated call time worked out from that doctor's own recent pace — not a fixed number of minutes per patient. When the doctor is running late, the delay shows. The page refreshes itself and needs no app or login. Other patients' names are never shown.

Reception can copy the link or send it from the desk's own WhatsApp. With WhatsApp messaging set up — approved templates and message credits — the link can go out with the serial confirmation, and a reminder can go out automatically when three patients are ahead. The time is an estimate: a long consultation moves it, and the page says so.

2. Is my report ready?

The QR code on the invoice opens the patient's report link, protected by the last four digits of their phone number. Before the report is ready, it now shows every test on the invoice with where it is — sample not given yet, in the lab, being checked, ready, or taking longer — and the day each one is expected, worked out from that test's turnaround time. Results open as soon as they are approved and the bill is paid.

A centre can also switch on a short explanation of out-of-range results in plain Bangla and English under the approved report. It is drafted by AI from the values and reference ranges only — never the patient's name or phone — never names a medicine or a diagnosis, and always ends by asking the patient to discuss the result with their doctor. It is off until the centre turns it on.

3. The collector is on the way

For home sample collection, the collector taps Start trip on the Field Agent app and the patient's link shows the collector's name, their latest position on a map, an approximate arrival time and each step from assigned to collected. Location sharing stops the moment the collector arrives or the booking is cancelled, and the link expires within a day.

The live map needs the Field Agent app (a ৳1,000/month add-on) on the collector's Android phone; a collector working from the web page appears on the link without a position. The link reaches the patient through a configured WhatsApp template.

And one login for the whole family

Patients linked to SihatSuite's patient portal sign in with their mobile number and a PIN. One number now serves a family: parents see their children's reports and prescriptions, while an adult's records are shared with the rest of the family only if that adult chooses. Every view is logged.

What a centre needs

  • Live serial links: Diagnostic Management, or the Dental or Eye Chamber packages, which include doctor serials.
  • Report progress: Diagnostic Management. The plain-language explanation is a setting, off by default.
  • Collector on the way: Diagnostic Management with home collection, plus the Field Agent app for the live map.
  • Automatic WhatsApp messages: approved templates and message credits. Copying a link or sending it from the desk's own WhatsApp costs nothing.
